“Bloemen Winkel” means Flower Shop in Dutch. Our flower shop prides itself in providing the most beautiful and high-quality flowers available. We import an assortment of flowers from Holland on a weekly basis. Our roses come from a farm in Ecuador that uses environmentally sound methods and uses resources efficiently, resulting in minimal environmental impact. During our growing season we grow and harvest flowers locally within miles of our flower shop.
Owner and floral designer, Carrie Scribner has harbored a lifelong passion for all things floral. After years of working as a graphic designer, putting her fine art degree to use, she was ready for a change of pace. In a case of serendipity, Carrie learned that her favorite local flower shop, owned by a Dutchman and his wife, was closing. “I knew if I wanted to be happy, I needed to create with my hands and be my own boss,” she explains. “When the couple said they were closing, I asked if they were interested in selling the business.”
Soon enough, Dutch Bloemen Winkel sprouted to life. Today, our European-style flower shop and floral design business continues to provide customers with original designs. In addition to fresh cut flowers, our shop stocks seasonal decor, unique vases, high quality plants, greeting cards, soy and beeswax candles, Stroopwafels, and French-milled soaps.
Our Services: In addition to daily orders, our flower shop has an impeccable reputation for its wedding services. With great care and detail we custom design each of our events; to reflect a couple’s style. Dutch Bloemen Winkel also excels in creating signature arrangements for our local businesses, including restaurants, offices, and hotels. Our shop is also connected to a network of boutique florists across the country and internationally, so you can conveniently place an order with us and ensure that your gift is of like quality to our shop.
Our shop mascots, the lovable and snorty Tulip and Toad, will often greet you at the door!
